WAMBLEE - Mexican eagle (parabuteus unicinctus)
A legend on board of S/Y Cour de mer

Wamblee is a female eagle, original from the desert Sonora in North-Mexico, naturally living on cactus in the mountains. She lives and hunts together with other female eagles. She was brought up as "chicken" on board of S/Y Cour de mer and lives together with us like crew member. Her food consists of wild hares, snakes and other little reptiles. Sometimes also she eats chicken or red tuna - cruel and fresh. Now she is adult and ... already a very good hunter !

CAUTION: Though she is accustomed to humans, she remains a wild animal and we recommend all our guests to be careful, don't come to close and don't touch her. The eagle only defends her territory.
But she has a good confidential relation to the crew members, who can carry her every time.
